The Challenge

Uber needed to operationalize its internal diversity strategy to improve employee retention and representation globally. The challenge was to launch and scale the "Los Ubers" LatinX community from zero, creating a cohesive engagement framework for a distributed workforce across 10 countries without existing playbooks or dedicated resources.

My Approach

  • Zero-to-One Architecture: Founded and structured the global governance model for the LatinX ERG, establishing clear leadership roles, communication channels, and operational KPIs from the ground up.

  • Process Optimization: Simultaneously streamlined support workflows for Uber’s incubator programs (Uber Bikes, Health, Business), applying the same operational rigor to internal community management as client-facing products.

  • Global Communication Strategy: Designed a centralized internal communications ecosystem that connected 600+ distributed members, ensuring consistent messaging and cultural alignment across diverse regions (LatAm, US, EMEA).

  • Scalable Program Management: Developed repeatable event frameworks (workshops, webinars) that allowed local chapters to execute high-quality programming independently, driving average attendance of 150+ per event.

Impact & Results

  • Scaled Global Infrastructure: Successfully grew the community from founding to 600+ active members across 10 countries, creating a self-sustaining internal network.

  • Measurable Culture Shift: Drove a 50% increase in employee representation and engagement metrics through targeted content and strategic programming.

  • Operational Excellence: Enhanced the efficiency of the social media response team by integrating community insights into service quality protocols.

  • Cross-Border Cohesion: Unified a fragmented workforce under a single cultural narrative, proving the business value of structured internal communities for retention and morale.
